Logistics Specialist – Hilti Ireland

 

At Hilti Ireland, we’re growing fast—and we’re proud of it! From celebrating internal promotions to launching cutting-edge innovations, we’re looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our Local Logistics Team in Finglas, Dublin 11.

This is an exciting and dynamic role, where you will be responsible for supporting end to end supply chain execution for Hilti Ireland.
 
The Logistics Specialist role is fast paced, busy and highly collaborative. You will work in conjunction with our Hub in Manchester, liaison with our Logistics Service Providers, Regional Logistics Material Management, Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Finance and Controlling, Tool Service Centre and other areas at Corporate Headquarters to ensure optimum efficiency within logistics.

 

What You’ll Do 

The purpose of the role is to provide process management support into continuous improvement initiatives, programs, training, and projects within the organization through the execution of operational excellence and use of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
 
As the Logistics Specialist for Hilti Ireland, you will be part of our local logistics team, working cohesively with many internal and external touch-points to ensure a robust and aligned fulfilment strategy. You’ll report directly to the Fulfilment Manager working within a customer centric, direct sales organisation.

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for

  • Materials Management: Supporting local Customer Projects visiting job sites together with the salesforce, feeding back to the local & regional logistic teams where required
  • Transport Management: Assisting in the end-to-end management of transport services to the customer, ensuring quality, a proactive solutions centric approach, continuous improvement and process compliance
  • Warehouse Support: planning and scheduling distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/ damaged goods, maintenance and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Process Improvement: working cross functionally, using lean management tools, adapting global standard / guidelines and sustainably solve root cause issues to achieve cost productivity, efficiencies, or service improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant Logistics / Materials Management / Supply Chain experience (c. 2 + years)
  • SAP experience
  • Logical thinker with strong attention to detail and a high level of commitment
  • Strong Microsoft and PC skills; including Access, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Ability to use Excel for analysis
  • Strong Analytical skills and mathematical aptitude required
  • Willing to work in operational and office environment
  • Has excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Full working rights in Ireland
  • Full clean drivers licence
