Construction Project Director

Role Overview
The Construction Project Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects, ensuring they meet quality, safety, schedule, and budget objectives. This role acts as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, internal teams, and stakeholders, leveraging Hilti’s advanced technologies and solutions to optimize project execution and foster strong client relationships.
This full-time position is available as soon as possible. Required travel is up to 30%, predominately within Europe.
What you’ll do
- Report to the Head of X-EU Large Projects in the Netherlands, drive assigned project(s) to maximize topline and meet profitability targets for tier one international projects.
- Lead capture team in a matrix organization leveraging strengths and connecting the dots.
- Full P&L responsibility for all projects, including order execution by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure project compliance with Hilti rules and guidelines at country, regional, and global levels.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive project success and align with organizational goals.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success.
- Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project outcomes.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Promote the adoption of innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing project team.
What you’ll bring
- Degree in engineering or related discipline; a Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- Around 10+ years in international sales, global strategic accounts, or construction project management with a sales or P&L focus.
- Ability to manage complex international commercial deals, lead teams remotely, and steer large order execution.
- Understanding of commercial, technical, logistic, financial, and legal aspects related to providing complex solutions combining product, services, and software.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills and a self-starter, able to lead change, maintain a positive attitude and resilience.
- Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with senior management across organizational levels.
- Highly proficient in English, another EU language is a plus.
- Aspire to develop a long-term career with the company and open to relocation for career advancement.
- Able to lead without direct report, to coach others and to work in matrix organization
- Ability to travel as pre business needs, predominately within Europe
