What's the role?
As a key member of the META Materials Management Team you are supporting the business results of META (Middle East, Turkey, and Africa), within the Materials Management operations for large projects & complex customer orders from Dubai. You are expected to take an active regional role by engaging in best practice projects and functioning as part of a regional and global team.
What does the role involve?
The key responsibility of the Project Materials Manager is to own and drive the process of managing the flow of materials for large projects & project business within the markets of the Region META (Middle East, Turkey & Africa) ensuring that there is an optimization of stock and service level at all locations in line with company objectives (Stock Availability, Customer Satisfaction/Sales order execution, Days on Hand, Obsolescence, Forecast Quality).
You will partner with and communicate effectively to keep appropriate stakeholders in the organization (Sales, Large Project organization, and others) up to date of supply issues and situations affecting risks and release of project orders and you should increase the efficiency & effectiveness in the overall project materials management processes.
Responsibilities will include:
In collaboration & partnership with the Mainstream (non-project business) MM team, check regional materials supply / capabilities for large projects, clarifying lead times & taking proactive measures on any stock shortages to resolve the situation at the earliest opportunity
Execute Project SFI (Sales Forecast Integration) meetings to agree on inventory decisions for large projects
Manage inventory approvals within Project SFI and Inventory Investment Request (PB S&OP process)
Coordinate different MO/Mainstream MM’s for purchasing of project related materials, entering project forecast based on Project BOM’s into planning system and manage Project BOM changes
Manage project stock & stock reservation processes to ensure that service and inventory targets are met
What you need is:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business fields required (focus in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management preferred)
3+ years of professional experience in a materials management or planning role
Prior experience in with MS Office (Excel, PPT) , SAP ERP, JDA systems is preferred.
Strong knowledge in the Logistics processes (e.g. understanding of principles of inventory management, international shipping, warehouse/transportation management, etc.) and strong analytical skills.
Strong leadership skills, passion for people development, and excellent communication skills
Fluency in English language
Based in Dubai, or willing to relocate/ commute to Dubai
